Wickens moved to Indianapolis hospital, set for further surgery

Robert Wickens has been transferred to a ho🎃spitalꦛ close to his Indianapolis home as he continues his recovery from injuries he sustained in a huge IndyCar crash. 

The Schmidt Perterson Motorsports driver was caught up in a multi-c🥃ar incident on the opening lap of the Pocono race nearly two weeks ago that resulted in hiꩲs car being thrown into the catch fencing at high-speed.

Robert Wickens has been traওnsferred to a hospital close to his Indianapolis home as he continues his ꦰrecovery from injuries he sustained in a huge IndyCar crash. 

The Schmidt Perterson Motorsports driver was caught up in a multi-car incident on the opening lap of the Pocono race nearly two weeks ago that resulted in his car being thrown into the catch fencing at high-ꦜspeed. 

Wickens broke his right arm, both legs and suffered an injury to his spine in the violent crash. He was confirmed to be br🃏eathing unassisted and talking to his family last week and has since been moved to a hospital closer to his hoܫme, where the Canadian is set to undergo an operation on his "lower extremities".

"Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver Robert Wickens𓄧 was transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital on Thursday August 30 to continue treatment in his home of Indianapolis," a team statement from SPM read.

"He will soon undergo further surgery on hi🥃s lower extremiti🐽es.

"Wickens had been in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospital-𓆏Cedar Crest since his Augu💜st 19 incident during the IndyCar event at Pocono Raceway.

"The Wickens family and SPM organisation want to thank the surgeons, nursing team and the staff at the LVHN facility for their car⛎e of Robert the last 12 da♈ys."

Carlos Munoz has been confirmed as Wickens' replacement in the #6 SPM-Honda entry for the final two rounds of the 2018 season.&nbs♎p;
