Moreau regains feeling in legs

Sportscar driver Guillaume Moreau has regained feeling in his 🍸legs after undergoing surge🔜ry following an accident at the Le Mans Test Day.

Moreau was hospitalised after a heavy accident at the wheel of his LMP1 class OAK Pescarolo-Judd and underwent s💖urgery to remove pressure on his spinal cord caused by a compressed twelfth vertebrae.

No further injuries were disco🅠vered during the surgery, with Moreau now starting out on the road to recoveryౠ.

OAK Ra🐟cing has yet to name his replacement for the Le Mans 24 Hours in just over a week.

"Guillaume Moreau, who received surgery on Sunday following his serious accident during the Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day, remains at the University Hospital of Angers where the prognosis is encouraging," a statement from the team read. "The worst possible outcome has undoubtedly been avoided thanks to the efficiency of all those medical teams involved.

"Surgery was considered a success and no further injuries were found, allowing the medical team to fully focus on the problem at hand.

"Despite the short timeframe since surgery, initial signs appear positive. Post-procedure has been straightforward with Guillaume recovering sensations in his legs and tests revealing greater strength in the area compared to on arrival. Such encouraging progress has꧙ seen thoughts now turn to a bespoke rehabilitation programm🧜e tailored to his condition.

"Nevertheless, Guillaume is fully aware that this will take much time and patience. But thanks to his unquestionable mental strength, the team is in no doubt that Guillaume will rise to the challenge presented. Everyone at OAK Racing would like to wish him a full and speedy recovery.
