The Le Mans 24 Hours race will get underway ⛎in tricky conditions, with light rain and drizzle timing its arrival for just 15 minutes before the world's✨ premier endurance racing event was due to get underway.

There had been some early revisions to the starting grid order, with 15 cars receiving demo🧜tions because of not completing all the required number of laps within the 110 per cent time during the week. The biggest casualty in the LMP1 class is the #21 Strakka HPD ARX 03c (Leventis/Watts/Kane) which loses its eighth place on the grid and has been sent back to 36th.

Penalised in the LMP2 class are the #46 Thiriet Oreca 03 (demoted from 19th to 37th), #31 Lotus T128 (down from 24th to 38th) and the #28 Gulf Racing Lola B12/80 (losing 12 positions from 27th to 39th). Other LMP2 cars affected are the #39 DKR Lola B11/40 (moved from 36th to 41st) and the #40 Boutsen Oreca 03 (losing ꦜfive spots from 37th for 42nd.) That will put them right in the middle of slower GTE-Pro traffic at the start.

The #98 AMR Vantage V8 was th🍃e only GTE-Pro car a♊ffected (down from 33rd to 40th) while eight GTE-Am cars were penalised but mostly only by a couple of positions.
