Alex Lowes could be forced to miss his planned third MotoGP race as a s𒆙tand-in for Bradley Smith after an injury of his own during Saturday morning practice at Aragon.

The Englishman hurt his left foot during 'one of the biggest crashes of his career' and, while an X-ray revealed no broken bones, the swelling and a heܫmatoma ๊caused a lack of sensation in his foot.

Lowes was sidelined for the rest of the day and his condition will now be reviewed by medꦜical staff on Sunday, to see if he i♊s fit to race. The World Superbike regular was one of many fallers in the FP3 session, with some riders saving their softer tyres for qualifying.

"I feel a bit unlucky to have fallen on the first lap, but a few other riders also did at this time in the session too," Lowes said. "Yet, unfortunately for me it was at the fastest corner of the track and in fact, it was one of the biggest crashe🔯s of my career so I think that I am rea💫lly lucky to walk away with this injury and nothing worse.

"I have to say sorry ℱto the entire team and the mechanics who have all worked really hard in my full three races with them. They have been fantastic, plus they made me feel welcome. We will see what happens tomorrow morning, but it would certainly be a pity to end my MotoGP experience with Tech 3 in this way."
