MotoGP: Lorenzo tests new chassis, modified aero at Mugello
Private MotoGP testing at Mugello got underway on Thursday, where the track was dry un🌼til rain and hail arrived at 3:30pm.
According to Ducati, the factory team of Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenz🌼o tested settings for their upcoming home race - 'nothing major due to uncertain weather' - with Lorenzo also trying a 'new chassis and slightly modified aero fairing'.

Lorenzo, denied a potential first podium of the season by Sunday's dramatic three-way collision with Dani Pedrosa and Dovizioso, has described this year's GP18 as better in some areas but weaker in others, relative to last year's GP17. The Spaniard has previously spo👍ken of trying to 'combine' the best of both bikes.
By contrast✅, Dovizioso and Pramac's Danilo Petrucci feelꦗ the GP18 is a small step forward with no major drawbacks.
Lorenzo's&nඣbsp;issues have been compounded by mid-corner problems with the present Ducati wing ༺fairing and so the test of a modified design is no surprise.
Repsol Honda, Movistar Yamaha, Suzuki and Aprilia are also on track in Italy, ahead🔜 of next weekend's French GP.
The Italian rou🐼𝕴nd will then be held on the weekend of June 1-3.
