Maverick Vinale✨s says his goal is to claim a home MotoGP podium at Catalunya, for the first time this weekend.

The Spaniard has made it onto the rostrum before in ꦛthe smaller classes but has yet 🐷to break into the top three in the premier class in Barcelona.

Vinales has been out of contention since his podium finish in Austin but still remains third♛ place in the p🧜oints standings, only five points behind team-mate Valentino Rossi.

The Movistar Yamaha rider, who was fastest in the recent pri🐼vate test at Catalunya, said: “Montmeló is a very special track for me because it's my home Grand Prix,” Vinales said.

“There is always a beautiful atmosphere there, with💖 so many enthusiastic fans. Despite the result in Mugello (eighth) we are in a good mood and very motivated. We will try to obtain as many points as we can to continue going upwards in the way we're approaching this championship.

“I would love to be on the p⛎odium in Montmeló, th🎃at would be great for me and for the team,” he added.

“They are working hard to find the best set-up for oꦉur b🌟ike in every GP, so let's keep focused and we’ll show the best side of us for our fans.”
