Maverick Vinales has swapped spots on the timesheet with Fabio Quartararo to top the second practice session at Assen ahead of the Dutch MotoGP as Yꦚamaha continue to dominate.

The Monster Yamaha rider notched up a 1m 3♎2.638s to narrowly miss out o𒅌n setting a new outright lap record at Assen but did push FP1 timesheet-topper Quartararo off top spot by 0.180s.

With the 🐠Petronas Yamaha rider completing an eye-catching day, despite appearing frustrated with his late FP2 lap, he comfortably held second place ahead of the factory Ducati duo led by Danilo Petrucci.

Andrea Dovizioso, lo⛄ng-time leader of FP2 on the long runs, slotted into fourth place ahead of Suzuki’s Alex Rins while an impressive FP2 display from Andrea Iannonඣe saw the Aprilia rider take sixth place despite a late crash at Turn 9.

MotoGP world championship leader Marc Marquez was duly shuffled down to seventh place on the times as leading Repsol Honda, with teammate Jorge Lorenzo out of the Dutch Mo☂toGP round after suffering a heavy FP1 off at Turn 7.

Joan Mir grabbed eighth place fo♏r Suzuki having benefitted from a tow following Valentino Rossi on his fast lap, wit🙈h the nine-time world champion taking ninth place for Monster Yamaha, as LCR Honda’s Cal Crutchlow rounded out the top 10.

Francesco Bagnaia just missed out in 11^th place for Pramac Ducati ahead of Avintia Ducat𒁏i’s ಌKarel Abraham and Jack Miller on the second Pramac bike.

Franco Morbidelli struggled to replicate his fellow Yamahas’ front-running pace in 14^th place for Petronas Yamaha as Red Bull KTM’s Pol E♔spargaro rounded out the t💖op 15.

Takaaki Nakagami could only reach 16^th place with his final lap for LCR Honda but moved ahead of Johann Zarco on the Red Bull KTM who crashed midway through FP2 at Tur♎n 7.

Tito Rabat (Avintia Ducati), Aleix Es𒁏pargaro (Aprilia) and Tech3 duo Miguel Oliveira and Hafizh Syahrin rounded out the MotoGP runn♛ers in FP2.
