Johann Zarcওo is determined that his MotoGP career will not end with his final KTM appearance at Valencia in November.

The Frenchman shocked the paddock by asking to be released after the first season of a t🔯wo-year factory contract, leaving him without a place on the 2020 grid.

The only other MotoGP ride still to be confirmed for next season is Tak🍨aaki Nakagami's✤ seat at LCR, but that is considered a formality.

Zarco made clear his decision to leave KTM had not been influenced by any alternative offers and he is only now beginning to plan a new futurಞe.

"It was important to let some days [pass si🅘nce the decision]. Also, so I can tak🏅e time to explain my situation to every important person in this MotoGP world," Zarco said at Silverstone on Thursday.

Zarco's top ൲priority is to find a role that will allow him to stay as close as possible to MotoGP pace, in readiness for a f🤪ull-time return.

"To ke🗹ep the highest feeling of MotoGP it looks like it's besܫt to be a test rider," he said. "To keep the contact with a MotoGP bike, and do many laps on a MotoGP bike to prepare my mind and body to a high level, that is one of the best options.

"So let's see which door will 🎃open and [if] I go as a test rider it will not be as a retired guy. I will go as a guy w♓ho is hungry to come back.

"The only questioꦑn mark is if you don’t do 20 ra🧜ces in a season, would I lose the pace or not?"

The lack of races as a tes💦t rider means Zarco is also open to the idea of returning to Moto2, where he was world champion in 2015 and 2016. That was during the former 🌼600cc Honda era, with 765cc Triumph engines and a new Magneti Marelli ECU being introduced for 2019.

"It's a possibil꧃ity. I think, being back in Moto2, on the sport side it's not a bad solution because it gives me the possibility, also with a good team, to give my best and target a world title that will help me to stay on a very high level of performance."

Zarco was less enthusiastic about a possible switch to Wor🐈ld Superbikes.

"It 🌳can be [an option]꧒ but I think for me the best way to stay at close to MotoGP podium level is to stay in this paddock, even if I have to go back to Moto2."

Zarco's best chance of a 𒈔MotoGP testing deal would probably be with Yamaha, given his previous six podiums and four poles on an M1, but much will depend on if current European test rider Jonas Folger decides to continue in the role or make a full-time comeback in Moto2.
