Marquez, a four-time winner at Aragon in the premier claܫss, has only been beaten at the track by Jorge Lorenzo during his Yamaha days (2014 and 2015) and had the honour of Turn 10 being named after him last year – fully confirming his home advantage at the track situated just south of the Pyrenees Mountains.

There is one rider change and one wildcard at Aragon with Mika Kallio replacing Johann Zarco at Red Bull KTM for the rest of the season after the French rider's split from the Austrian manufacturer. At Aprilia, Bradley Smith ✅is completing his final wildcard outing for the Noale factory squad in his test rider role.

The world title race also ramps up in Moto2 and Moto3 at Aragon. Alex Marquez holds a 26-point lead in the intermediate class after Augusto Fernandez claimed victory at Misano - only after an appeal hearing held at Aragon yesterday - which saw the Spanish rider keep hold of his win from Fabio Di Giaౠnnantonio.

In Moto3, Lorenzo D🍰alla Po♉rta has a 22-point lead at the top of the standings from Aron Canet.
