Marc Marqu🎀ez won't be the only injured Honda MotoGP rider undergoing🍸 surgery in Barcelona on Tuesday.

LCR's Cal Crutchlow suffered a heavy fall at the end 🤡of morning warm-up and, having hit his head and neck, was sent for a precautionary CAT scan at a nearby hospital.

While the scan proved negative, the MotoGP Medical Team decided that for safety reasons t⛦he Brit🐲on should rest for a minimum of eight hours, ruling him out of the race.

“Unfortunately this morning in the last lap of the warm-up I crashed going into turn eight," Crutchlow said. "It seemed that when I braked on the kerb, tᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚhe front of the bike slid and I was unable to save the crash.

"What was going to be a normal crash escalated when I went into the deep gravel trap and started tumbling, 🐼hitting my head quit༒e a few times, particularly my face. I was a bit dazed after the crash, and a bit sore in my whole body, especially my hands.

“After further assessment at the medical centre I was sent for the CT scan on my head and neck and it all came back fine. With the facial bruising I had, however, Dr. Anജgel Charté felt I needed eight hours rest, which I think was the right decision."

But that wasn't the end of the matter.

Feeling increasing pain in his left wrist, Crutchlow returned to hospita🃏l, where a tiny fracture to the scaph🎐oid bone in his left wrist was discovered.

As a result, the Englishman will undergo arthroscopic surgery to insert a small pin. Should all go as planned, Crutchlow is expected 🎐;to take part in next we🀅ekend's Andalusian GP at the same circuit.

“When I returned to the circuit I began to feel🔜 some pain in my left wrist, so went for another scan of the scaphoid, which it seems has been broken in t🐼he crash," Crutchlow confirmed.

"Dr. Mir will operate on the wrist in Barcelona on Tuesday morning, and I will return to the circuit o🌜n Friday and hopefully to action. I look forward to seeing the LCR Honda Castrol Team there, and hopefully toᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ work hard with them again next weekend.”

World champion Marquez is also due to under♋go surgery in Barcelona on ꦿTuesday, after suffering a broken arm in Sunday's race.

Free p꧒ractice for the Andalusian Grand Prix starts on Friday morning.
