Joan Mir: My goal is to be in the top three every race if possible

Joan Mir heads into the first of four Sp𝕴anish MotoGP rounds on the 2021♔ calendar aiming for his second podium of the season.

Last year’s World Champion managed to turn a thirdꦛ row starting position into a third place finish ten days ago, a story we saw unfold on many occasions in 2020.

"I was really pleased to be on the podium in Portugal, and I want to match this result and better it. My goal is to be in the top three everܫy🌞 race if possible!," added Mir.

During his three MotoGP seasons to date, Mir is yet to finish on t๊he podium at Jerez with a fifth place result the best he’s managed so far, which came at last year’s Andalusian Grand Prix.

However, Mir believes the GSR-RR has the potential to be ‘strong’, ♛even though the competition this year is ‘higher than normal’.

"Here at Jerez I thiℱnk our bike can be strong, and it’s a circuit I like a lot, but I’m also expecting the competition level to be really high - even more than normal - because all the riders know this circuit very well and in general the level is extremely high this year.

"But as usual I will aim to put in the best performance possible and bring S🐼uzuki a nice result and a bunch of points."

The Portuguese Grand Prix was the first race this year where Suzuki contended for the win before Alex Rins crashed out, which will be a positive sign heading into a section of the campaign 🎃;where Suzuki were strong just ༒a few months ago.
