Verstappen and H🥃amilton came together as they battled for position at the fꦕirst chicane on Lap 26 of last weekend’s Italian GP at Monza.
The Red Bull driver’s car was launched on top of Hamilton’s Mercedes, with his right rear wheel 💟bouncing over ꧟the roll hoop before striking the Halo and making contact with the seven-time world champion’s helmet.
A new angle captured by an onboard 360-degree camera has provided revealing new footage of the accident, including t🐟he moment Verstappen’s wheel made contact with Hamilton’s head 🤪as both cars came to rest in the gravel trap.
Hamilton escaped the collision with a sore neck and praised F1’⛄s coc⭕kpit protection device for saving him from serious injury or death.
"Thank God for the halo that ultimat🍃ely I think saved me and saved my neck," Hamilton said.
“I don't think I've ever been hit on the head by a car before and it's quite a shocꦫk for me, because I don't know if you've seen the image but my head really is quite far forward.
“And I've been racing a long, long time, so I'm so, so grateful that I🌊'm stilꦓl here.”
Hami🙈lton sa🌌id he would visit a specialist ahead of the Russian Grand Prix later this month to ensure he has avoided any kind of injury.
