A four-car accident occurred at the high-speed Raidillon during the opening hour of running at the Spa 24 Hours on Saturday, with four drivers requiring medical t⛄reatment.

Williams F1 reserve Jack Aitken and💞 Ferrari factory driver Davide Rigon were taken to hospital for further checks, while Kevin Estre and Franck Perera were given the all-clear after an initial assessment at the ci🔯rcuit’s medical centre.

Rigon was released from hospital on 🧜Saturday evening but Aitken, who was driving an Emil Frey Lamborghini, remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two years ago, Anthoine Hওubert lost his life in a horrific Formula 2 crash at the same corner in an accident that also left Juan M🔯anuel Correa severely injured.

Alfa Romeo F1 reserve Ilott, who was also competing in the 2019 F2 race, feels changes a🀅re required to prevent similar accidents in the future.

“There needs to be a change at this corner 🦋and I’m very surprised nothing has changed yet,” he wrote social media. “Enough is enough.”

“If I’m wrong for chasing for better꧙ safety after seeing four of my friends involved ꧟in massive accidents then I may as well not be human.

“I’ve come back to Spa after 2019 and I will come back again after this. But that doesn’t mean if something isn’t good enough it shouldn’t b♛e fixed.”

In another reply to a Twitter user, Ilott argued it is the “ജbarrier mainly” which needs a revision.

Spa-Francor♋cham🤪ps will host F1’s Belgian Grand Prix on August 29.
