Rebellion scores maiden on-track WEC LMP1 win in Shanghai

After taking pol🍌e position on Saturday by 1.2 seconds, Rebellion's pace 🅠advantage over its LMP1 rivals was clear yet again in the race as Toyota struggled to put up a fight, having been pegged back on pace by the handicap system.

After taking pole position on Saturday by 1.2 seconds, Rebellion's pace advantage over its LMP1 rivals was clear yet again in the race as Toyota struggled to put up a fight, having been pegged back on pace 🧜by the handicap 🐷system.
Gustavo Menezes, Bruno Senna and Norman Nato came home more than a minute clear of the field in the #1 Rebellion R13 Gibson, marking the team's first LMP1 win since the 2018 6 Hours of Silverstone, where it was handed victory following a post-race disqualification for b🥂oth Toyota cars.
Rebellion took the lead of the race in the second hour and managed to keep the #8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid at an arm's length through the r🍬emainder of the race at the Shanghai International Circuit, leaving Sebastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Brendon Hartley to settle for P2 at the chequered flag.
The sister #7 Toyota came 💝home one lap behind in third, with the pa🐷ir of Team LNT Ginetta LMP1 cars taking fourth and fifth.
It marks the first on-track win for a team o🐻ther than Toyota since the 6 Hours of COTA back in 2017, which was w🦹on by Porsche.
Ricardo Gonzalez, Anthony Davidson and Antonio Felix da Costa took victory in the LMP2 class ✃in the #38 JOTA Oreca 07 Gibs👍on, leading home the affiliated #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing entry by 17 seconds.
The #51 AF Corse Ferrari of James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi 🤪initially took victory in GTE-Pro before being disqualified post-race for a ride height infringement which duly handed class victory to the Porsche of Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen.
TF Sport grabbed its second straight win in GTE-Am with🍨 the #90 Aston Martin Vantage through Salih Yoluc, Charlie Eastwood and Jonny Ad👍am.
