V8 Supercars Australia Executive Chairman Tony Cochrane announced Perry's appointment at the Supercheap🔜 Auto Bathurst 1000 today, stating that Perry was an ideal choice for the demanding position.
Cochrane has long stated that the technical aspect of the sport was in need of rejuvenation 🐟which led to a three-month major review across the entire technical and racing aspects of V8SA.
"It is clearly a vital element of the business and our growth moving forward," Cochrane said. "The role is very wide ranging, involves an enormous amount of consultation and requires a person tꦍhat can be both firm but all-encompassing in wha🐎t is a very unique environment.
"It's vital that Adam is given the backing to fill this challenging role that he requires and he ha𒉰s both my total support and the Board's."
Perry returns to the sꩵport after a two-year hiatus from his long-term position at Larkham Motorsport.
"It ๊will certainly be a challenging role but one I am really looking forward to," Perry said. "I am under no illusion as to the size of the task, the uniqueness and the dy𝔍namics of the business, as well as the key players within it.
"I believe clear and frequent communication is the key to🏅 building a competence based relationship 𝓰with the team owners and managers.
"Having been𝓰 away from the sport for a short time I can return with a clean sheet. V8 Supercars has been an enormously successful business for a long time and is also intensely competitive on and off track.
"There's a lot to consider but certainly cost reduction is an area that benefits everybody. There is also a lot of engagement that needs to happen across the board to deliver effectiv💛e outcomes for all of our teams."
The 47-year-old has a long history in Australian Touring Cars and the V8 Supercar Championship Series, predominately spent with former team owner, dri๊ver and past board member Mark Larkham.
He has established several new teams and spent more than eight years as a team manager or general manager giving him an extensive knowledge of the💟 business and complex technical side of the sp𒈔ort.
His main brief initially will be a full review of the technical side of the sport with a briefing watch on the Car of the Future progra⛦mme being chaired by Mark 🃏Skaife.
