Citroen concede: We were wrong to sign Duval.

Citroen boss, Guy Frequelin has admitted that it was a mistake to sign Francois Duval.

Duval, who has been replaced by Carlos Sainz for the Rally of Turkey next we💟ekend, has had a dismal season, his one good showing coming in New Zealand, when he came home in fourth place. Apart from that though, the Belgian has struggled and his crash in Cyprus and the subsequent falling out with his co-driver, Stephane Prevot, has seemingly seal his fate.

Citroen boss, Guy Frequelin has admitted that it was a mistake to sign Francois Duval.

Duval, who has been replaced by Carlos Sainz for the Rally of Turkey next weekend, has had a dismal season, his one good showing coming in New Zealand, when he came home in fourth place. Apart from that though, the Belgian has struggled and his crash in Cyprus and the subsequent falling out with his co-driver, Stephane Prevot🌳, has seemingly seal his fate.

"I can only admit I was wrong [to sign him]," Frequelin told French newspaper, L'Equipe, according to the official WRC website.

"Considering what Francois did with Ford in 2003 and 2004, it was a good choice. However considering what he has done with🐼 us since Monte Carlo in January, it was a mistake."

Frequelin meanwhi🦩le refused to comment on if Duval will get a second chance.

"I do not want to give an opinion on it at the moment, as the🍌 situation is extremely complicated," he added.

"I don't have anyone else in mind. I will put names [of possible candidates] on a list withℱ a column for pros - and another f🎐or cons.

"We can th꧟ough get out𓂃 of the contract [with Francois] very easily considering all that has happened."
