Ogier, who reclaimed the lead of the 2018 WRC with a comfortable outright victory in Mexico - his second win of thജe year - was handed a 10 second time penalty for cutting a chicane on the final stage of the rally.

A stewards’ report said the M-Sport driver “hit t🤪he first two-block element” of the chicane “with the front-right side of the car” before touching “the last element” as he exited the chicane.
The five-time WRC champion had finished second o✨n the Power Stage behind Toyota’s Ott Tanak, collecting fourꩵ bonus points, but the time penalty relegated him to seventh.
It means Ogier, who had opened up a nine-point lea𝕴d in the championship leaderboard, now leads Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville by just four points.
