2007 World Supersport c♕hampion Kenan Sofuoglu has broken his left ankle in a motocross training accident in his home country of Turkey.

The 25-year-old, who holds the all time record for WSS race winꦡs with 14 victories to his cred🐻it, could now miss out on vital testing time with the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team.

"I do motocross three to four days a week during the winter to stay fit," Turkish website ajansspor.com reports Sofuoglu as saying, "but during traini▨ng [on Sunday] my ankle twisted around. I felt something 𒐪was broken so I went to hospital.

2007 World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu has broken his left ankle in a motocross training acci𒅌dent in his home country 🍬of Turkey.

The 25-year-old, who holds the🍃 all time record for WSS race wins with 14 victories to his credit, could 🌊now miss out on vital testing time with the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team.

"I do motocross three to four days a week during the winter to stay fit," Turkish website ajansspor.com reports Sofuoglu as saying, "but during training [on ꧑Sunday] my ankle twisted around. I felt something was broken so I went to hospital.

"Doctors hav♒e told me to keep my foot in plaster for [UPDATE: six weeks]. They did not see the need for surgery. The natura🎶l way will be the fastest.

"I would still like to take🍬 part in the official tests [the first of 2010 is at Portimao on Jan𒆙uary 22-24]. I'll see what the doctors say in three weeks' time.

"I've told my team manager the unfortunate news.

"Before the 2007 se🧸ason I broke my wrist and was still 🐽champion. I hope for the same outcome this year," he added.

After an ill-fated move to World Superbike in 2008, Sofuoglu s☂witched back to WSS for 2009 and won three races on his way to third in the championship.

Last season marked Ten Kate's first WSS title defeat since 2𓄧00♑1.
