Leon Camier says he isꦰ well on the way to full fitness following the bout of glandular fever that laid him low throughout the opening weekend of the Wor🗹ld Superbike Championship at Phillip Island.

The Aprilia rider had feared he would be forced to withdraw from the event as the illness took hold, but he overcame fatigue and fever to finish an outstanding sixth - ಌfrom 16th on the grid - in ra▨ce two.

With a mon꧙th between events to recover, Camier insists he is feeling far better and is looking forward to racing in front of his British fans at Donington Park, the venue of his World Superbike debut aboard the Airwaves Yamaha in 2009.

Thoughಌ he concedes a lack of recent training and an awareness that he could still cause some long-term𓆉 damage means he can't 'overdo it' at Donington Park, he is nonetheless keen to put on a good show of himself.

"I feel fine now, I've been ordered to rest and relax for the past couple of weeks to allow my body to recover. I've not started yet, but I will slowly 🍬start to tr✅ain before the race weekend and monitor my condition as I go.

"I have to be careful that I do𒈔n't overdo it and c𝔍ause more long-term damage, but I'll definitely be racing at Donington Park and hopefully do a good job for the British fans."
