Misano WorldSBK: Tough weekend for Redding, ‘never really improved honestly’

Scott Redding has lost more ground to his closest WorldSBK rivals after finishing behind Toprak Razgatlioglu and Jonath🐻an Rea in all three Misano races.
Redding had a consistent weekend, but one where a lack of feeling with the ‘front tyre’ cost him any chance of fighting fo💝r the podium.
Redding was unable to challenge Razgat💟lioglu, Rea and team-mate Michael Rinaldi in any of the three r𓆏aces, which resulted in a 45 point deficit to Rea in the championship.
Redding said: "It was a hard weekend from the b🤪eginning. We got off on a difficult foot and never really improved honestly.
"Just been fourth position every race. Today we were able to improve a little bit the feeling with the bike compared to yesterday but it was not enough to be able to reach thꦺeℱ podium.
"H☂onestly, in the first laps of the Superpole Race, I thought I could fight with Johnny (Rea) in an incisive way, while in Race-2 I felt I had no grip with the front tyre.
"It was a triple whammy for 👍me🦋 because my team-mate was super fast all weekend and you always want to beat your team-mate."
Rinaldi had the strongest weekend of any Ducati rider so f♏ar this season with two wins and a second place, however, the Italian remains some way off the championship battle at the moment.
But it was valuable points lo💜st to thꦏe likes of Razgatlioglu and Rea who are sure to be competing for the title come season’s end.
"Okay, for the championship he’s [Rinaldi] not a big threat at this moment. But then, Toprak [Razgatlioglu] was always in front and was already in front of me i🌳n the championship," added Redding.
"Jonathan [Rea] was in front of me and in the championship, so it was jusꩵt a hard weeke🎀nd. I just had to try and stay calm, not try to override and lose the points again."
