Former WℱorldSBK and MotoGP rider Jonas Folger is considering a switch to the World En𝓀durance Championship for 2022.

After joining Bonovo BMWღ for the 2021 WorldSBK campaign, the German has an option to contest the 2022 WEC season with EꦍRC Ducati.

This comes after Folger and BMW failed in coming to an agreement which would have seen him compete for the German manufactu𓆏rer in the same series.

Folger’s rookie season in WorldSBK was an extremely tough one a💦s he failed to make any real progress during the season - much like another former MotoGP rider in Tito Rabat, as the year went on.

A best of eighth in race three at Aragon was the 28 year-old’s only top ten finish o𝓰f the year, before he and the team decided to split following Portimao.

While Folger and Bono🎃vo competed as a one-rider tea🅺m in 2021, the BMW outfit has increased its participation for next year as Loris Baz and Eugene Laverty have come onboard.

In an exclusive interview wi♛th SPEEDWEEK, Folger said he’s considering the above-mentioned offer from Ducati, however, the German is working on a plan b that does not include racing.

. “I would have done that anyway, I've had that in the back of my mind for a long time and I'm planning. Regardless of whether I race or not. I've been doing some of these for a long time and would just invest more time.”
