Could WorldSBK chaಌmpion Toprak Razgatlioglu be even more formidable in 2022 after the Turkish star called Yamaha’s new electronics packages a big improvement.

Razgatlioglu finished last week’s weather-affected two-day test at Aragon quickest from Garrett Ger🔯loff, while electing to run a similar program to that of Portimao which included heavy testing of the Japanese manufacturer’s new elect꧅ronics and engine upgrades.

While in Portimao Razgatlioglu finished fastest from expect꧒ed title rival Jonathan Rea - set a new unofficial lap record in the process - testing in Aragon seemed to be just as productive if the 25 year-old’s comments are anything to go by.

Razgatlioglu, who will get his first taste of the new 2022 R1 during a two-day test in 👍Catalunya on March 25-26, told WorldSBK.com: "I remember in 2020 and 21 I wasn’t really strong here. But toda𒈔y we were very strong.

"On the SC0 tyre I did a (1m) 49.9s which is a very good lapꦗ time for me. We also tried a small race si🐷mulation and the lap time was very consistent, this is good for me.

"We are ready to race! Next time🎀 in Catalunya we will test again many new pa💛rts and I will ride the 2022 bike. We used some new electronics and we will use new electronics again in Catalunya.

"We will see as now we made an incredible step with the electronics🌄. I like it. I hope in Catalunya we can improve more."

When asked what areas the new electronic pa🔯ckages are helping with the𓃲 most, Razgatlioglu delivered a short but precise answer.

"Ever♌ything! The engine brake, traction control, anti-wheelie, everything is a good step, an improvement."

As is the case for GRT Yamaha, Razgatlioglu and Pata Yamaha will unveil their new 2022 colours at the C✃atalun🍬ya test, which comes three days after Kawasaki do the same with their factory KRT team.
