A 17th win of the season during the first race of the day at Silverstone was all L🍸eon Camier needed to wrap up the 2009 MCE British Superbike Cham🅠pionship with four races of the season remaining.

While the title win was consider꧋ed something of an inevitability following a season in which Camier has stood on top of the podium a record number of times,🌳 he was still made to work hard for it in both races.

Dicing for the lead with Ai🌜rwaves Yamaha team๊-mate James Ellison throughout race one, Camier needed to finish ahead of his rival in order to wrap up the title.

Several failed attempts ensued before Camier e𒈔ventually passed Ellison on the penultimate lap, the 22-year-old cruising home to officially put the 𒉰title out of reach for anyone else.

An appropriate way for Camier to underline his sheer dominance in 2009, he was thrilled to finally be able to call🐻 himself champion.

"It's a dream come true to become British Superbike Champion. I have to thank everyone who has helped me get h🍸ere. The first race was one of the hardest of the season for me. I was pushing 🧸so hard and there were some places where I was a bit out of control.

"I kept tryi🌼ng to make passes, but they weren't working out. Thankfully it all turned out ok in the end, it's an unbelievable feeling to know I've finally done it!"

Camier finished second in race two after an error early on prompted fi🍎ght back through the pack.

Three races remain thi💞s year with Oulton Park hosting the season finale triple-header in October.
