Camier celebrates BSB title
A 1♋7th win of the season during the first race of t♐he day at Silverstone was all Leon Camier needed to wrap up the 2009 MCE British Superbike Championship with four races of the season remaining.
While the title win was ♏considered something of an inevitability following a season in which ꦕCamier has stood on top of the podium a record number of times, he was still made to work hard for it in both races.
Dicing for the lead withജ Airwaves Yamaha team-mate James Ellison throughout race one, Camier needed to finish ahead of his rival in order to wrap up the title.

Several failed attempts ensued before Camier eventually passed Ellison on the penultimate lap, the 22-year-old cruising home to officially p💛ut the title out of reach for anyone else.
An appropriate way for Camier to underline his sheer🍃 dominance in 2009, he was thrilled to finally be able to call himself champion.
"It's a dream come true to become British Superbike Champion. I have to thank everyone who has helped me get here. The first race was one of the hardest of the season for me. I was pushing so hard and♓ there were some 🧜places where I was a bit out of control.
"I kept trying to make passes, but they we♎ren't working out. Thankfully it all turned out ok in the end, it's an unbelievable feeling to know I've finally done it!"
Camier finishe💜d second in race two after an error early on prompted fight back through the pack.
Three rac𝓀es remain this year with Oulton Park hosting the season finale triple-header in October.
