Donington Park: Shane Byrne misses BSB opener with concussion
Defending MCE British Superbike champion Shane Byrne has been ruled out of the opening round of the 2017 season at Donington Park after sustaining concussion in a fall dur🌱🗹ing morning warm-up.
The Be Wiser Ducati rider was set to line-up fifth on the grid for race one but du꧋ring the extended morning warm-up session he suffered a fall at the bottom of Craner Curves.
The five-time BSB𓃲 champion required a stretcher and was immediately taken to the medical centre for assessment.
Ha✅ving been ꦏlooked over by the medical staff at Donington Park Byrne has been ruled out of both races at the season opener.
The 🌊rider has been confirmed as okay but due to the severity of concussion injuries the BSB medical team has taken the decide to stop the Be Wis꧟er Ducati rider racing at the Leicestershire track.
Byrne did finish the morning warm-up session second fastest overall three-tenths of a second off 2016 BSB 🐬runner-up Leo🧸n Haslam.
The 40-year-old is expected to return to🍰 action in two weeks time at the second round of the BSB season at Brands Hatch.
