Donington Park: Shane Byrne misses BSB opener with concussion
Defending MCE British Superbike champion Shane Byrne has been ruled out of the opening round of the 201๊7 sea𝔉son at Donington Park after sustaining concussion in a fall during morning warm-up.
The Be Wiser Ducati rider was set to line-up fifth on the grid for race one but during the extended morning warm-up session he suff𓄧🃏ered a fall at the bottom of Craner Curves.
The five-time BSB🌌 ch⛦ampion required a stretcher and was immediately taken to the medical centre for assessment.
Having been looked over by the medical staff at Donington Park Byrne has been ruled out of both ꧋races at the ꦅseason opener.
The rider has been confirmed as okay but due to the severity of concussion i♛njuries the BSB medical team has taken the decide to stop the Be Wiser Ducati rider racing at the Leicestershire track.
Byrne did finish ⛎the morning warm-up session s𒆙econd fastest overall three-tenths of a second off 2016 BSB runner-up Leon Haslam.
The 40-year-oღld is expected to return to actio🉐n in two weeks time at the second round of the BSB season at Brands Hatch.
