Steve Hislop's mother, Margaret, has iss💫ued a statement today thanking people for their support following the tragic accident that claimed Hizzꦛy's life at the end of July.

In a let꧂ter released by the MonsterMob Ducati's press officer, Larry Carter, the team wꦡith whom Steve won the British Superbike championship last year, Margaret wrote:

"Dear all,

"Myself, George and Ally along with Aaron and Connor would like to exඣtend our most grateful thanks for the numerous cards, flowers, letters and messages of support that we have received 🧔since Steve's tragic accident.

"We have been truly touched by the great affection in which he was held by friends, fans and fellow competitors alike and this kindness has been simply overwhelming as indicate𒀰d by the volume of p💝eople that were present at the funeral.

𒐪"Not only will be remembered by us as a dear son, lo𒁏ving partner and dedicated father but as an inspiration to thousands who were touched by his presence.

"We will always be so proud of him.

Meanwhile, last weekend at Oulton Park, where the next two rounds of the 2003 British Superbike Championship took place, a collection bucket placed in garage one during the pit lane walkabout on Sunday raised over ?1000 towards the 'Steve Hislop Memor𝓡ial Fund'.
