Steve Hislop's mother, Margaret, has issued a statement today thanking people for their support following the tragic accident that claimed Hizzy's life at the end of🍌 July.

In a letter released by the MonsterMob Ducati's ⛦press officer, Larry Carter, the team with whom Steve won the British Superbike championship last year, Margaret wrote:

"Dear all,

"Myself, George and Ally along with Aaron and Connor wo🌳uld like to extend our most grateful thanks for the numerous cards, flowers, letters and messages of support that we have received since Steve's tragic ꦬaccident.

"We have been truly touched by the great affection in which he was held by frienꦫds, fans and fellow c🌊ompetitors alike and this kindness has been simply overwhelming as indicated by the volume of people that were present at the funeral.

"Not only will be remembered by us as a dear son, loving partner ꦛand dedicated father but as an inspiration to thousands who were touch❀ed by his presence.

"We will always be so proud of him.

"Thank you to you all,

"Margaret Hislop."

Meanwhile, last weekend at Oulton Park,ꦰ where the next two rounds of the 2003 British Superbike Championship took place, a collection bucket placed in garage one during the pit lane walkabout on Sunday raised over ?1000 towards the 'Steve Hislop Memorial Fund'.
