Anthony Reid has attacked Tom Chilton 🌊after an incident with the H🔥onda driver ruined his final race at Croft.
The West Surrey Racing driver, who took his first victory of the season in the open🌞ing race of the day, blamed the youngster for a coming together at Tower that damaged his MG ZS and left him in sixth place - despite having the quickest car on the track early in the🅰 race.
"Basically Tom Chilton was in front of me and I ꦡwasn't happy with the move he pulled," Reid said. "He was committed to braking on the conventional racing line on the left hand side for Tower, whicꩲh is a right hand corner. I was close behind him and dive-bombed him down the inside and at the last possible moment during the middle of his braking process he did a lane change from the left to the right hand side of the circuit.
"You cannot defy the laws of physics. You're committed, you're coming into the corner quicker, you're braking on the limit, he's 🎶going much slower and all of a sudden he comes across in front of my car. Its like going down the fast lane of the motorway and someone pulls out of the services right in front of you while you're doing 70mph.
"The damage I sustained to the front splitter meant I had no grip and I got 🌄flat spots on the tyres so it was like th🗹e Flintstones. It was remarkable that I finished sixth because the car was knackered."
Despite the disappointment of𒊎 failing to capitalise on the speed of the MG, Reid believes that the past two meetings at Mondello Par𒊎k and Croft suggest that the balance of power is shifting away from the previously dominant Vauxhall team.
"I believe MG has the strongest car now in the championship," he said. "We've had the fastest lap in the last six consecutive races which shows the strength of th💟e car. WSR and EDL, who are the engine tuners, have worked closely in the six week break, not only to improve the chassis but also to improve the engine performance and its sh൲owing now with the strength of the MG ZS.
"I'm just disappointed that I haven't got the results the car deserved. Yeah I won the firs༒t race, but the second was a struggle with the ꧙ballast on the car and the third race the car wasn't running as it should have done.
"But the car will be quick at Kno🌱ckhi🐓ll, I can't wait."
