Honda's Dan Cammish has clinched his first ever British Touri⛄ng Car Championship pole position in ultra-close fashion after beating the BMWs in qualཧifying at Knockhill.

The BTCC rookie made up for his Brands Hatch disappointment at the beginning of the season by snatching the top-spot during the dying minutes of what proved to be a hugely competitive 30-minute sh▨ootout.

At the halfway point of the session, it was champio🤪nship leader Colin Turkington who led the way after the Team BMW driver produced a phenomenal effort 💙on maximum success ballast to post a 51.172s lap.

However, while Turkington couldn't quite manage to improve on his own benchmark; Cammish, Andrew Jordan and Stephen Jelle🧸y stepped up to the mark, with pole position exchanging hands on multiple occ♐asions between that trio.

Incredibly, Jelley looked set to secure what would have been a shock maiden pole for hiℱs Team Parker Racing squad. However, Cammish defied both BMW machines to snatch his first pole position in the series by just 0.023s ahead of Jelley, with a 50.929sꦜ lap - comfortably handing the Honda driver a new qualifying lap record.

Points leader Turkington still retained his ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚspot on the second row in fourth, while Chris Smiley secured another top-five resul🌃t for the BTC Norlin Racing squad in fifth.

Title contender Tom Ingr🥂am will start the opening race directly behind his ma♚in rival Turkington in sixth.

Tom Oliphant and Ashley Sutton share the fourth row in seventh and eighth, while Adam Morgan and Josh Cook round🏅 out the top-ten order in ninth and tenth.
