Speedworks Motorsport's Tom Ingram ♑is refusing to dwell on his race two exclusion at Knockhill after losing vital ground in the 2018 BTCC title race.

Ingram was excluded from the second race☂ of the day at Knockhill after his Toyota Avensis failed the pos༺t-race ride height check.

The 25-year old had finished in second position behind the Subaru of Ashley Sutton, but the top-two were thrown out ofꦫ the race two result after both cars failed the ride-height check.

As a result, Ingram crucially lost 17-points after being stripped of second, and wa♛s forced to start from the back in race three, where he registered a non-scoring 16th place finish.

"We’ve not been bad this weekend. We’ve been really strong. We’ve had really good qualifying pace and we’ve had a car that’s felt really and driven really well," Ingram told✅ mahbx.com.

"It’s just so frustrating th☂at a few millimetres has cost us for 43 points this weekend. It’s really frustrating. What’s more frustrating is that we’re 43 points adrift and that’s a big gap to try and overhaul. We’ll keep our chin u෴p and keep positive.

"The positive spin on it is that the next two circuits don’t favour the RWD car. Hopefully that wi♔ll mean it can swing back in our fav🐻our. We’ll wait and see."

Despite walking away from Scotland with 10-poin꧙ts to his name, Ingram said the pace of his Speedworks prepared Avensis exceeded his expectations.

Ingram qualified a strong sixth for the 🎉opening race, and finished in that position while running with 66 kilos of success ballast.

"Realistically I thought we🦄 would’ve been around 12th in qualifying and race one, with maybe a top-ten in race two. We kind of exceeded our expectations but obviously we didn’t get to keep our race two result, which is the frustration," Ingram continued.

"We can’t do anything about it. It's annoy💞ing but we go to the next two rounds in a strong place."
