Honda's Gordon Shedden has won the final BTCC ra🌜ce of the day at Donington Park following an epic final lap duel with BMW's Colin Turkington.

Turkington, startinওg pole on the r𒊎everse race three grid, not only led every single lap but at one point also enjoyed a near five-second lead over the rest of the field.

Shedden, however, after dispatching Matt Neal and Jason Plato then relentlessly went about eating into Turking🧸ton's lead setting up an enthralling final lap showdown culminating in the pair both cutting the final chicane door to door.

The Scotsman's victor𓆉y was the also the Civic Tourer's maiden sౠuccess along with being the first Tourer machine to win in the BTCC.

Neal ensured it was a Honda one-t💞hre𒁏e with an eventually comfortable final step on the rostrum.

Mat Jackson posted by far his strongest result of the ꧅season to finish a high of fourth, hinting his Airwaves squad may finally be getting to grips with their 2014 spec Focus.

Pirt𓃲ek's Andrew Jordan again had to stage somewhat of a recovery after dropping down to 12th thanks to opening lap contact from the Ho💧nda of Shedden forcing the Civic wide.

Jordan ended the race fif🌺th directly ahead of championship rival Jason 🌠Plato who played the safe points game in sixth.

Plato did hold second for half of the race but his MG struggled൲ towarඣds the later stages of the race.

The top-five ❀championship contenders, led by Plato and Jordan level on 87 points, are now just separated by eight-points.

Rob Collard an⛦d Alain Menu bo🐠th staged outstanding recovery drives to finish seventh and ninth after starting from the rear of the field.

Collard's eBay team mate Nick f♎oster sandwiched the pair in ei𒁏ghth.

Adam Morgan salvaged a 🐷solitary top-ten finish in his Mercedes A-Class to end a frustrating weekend for the Wix Racing squad.
