Reigning champion Rene Rast made a further mark in DTM history after claiming a record-breaking fifth straight win in the series t൩o set up a thr🔯ee way title fight ahead of tomorrow's last race of the season at Hockenheim.

Rast became the first driver in modern day DTM hisᩚ♛ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚtory to claim five wins in a row after securing the race one victory ahead of his Audi team mate Robin Frijns from third on the grid.

Having stalked the Mercedes of Gary Paffett for much of the opening half of the race, Rast upped the ante immediat💧ely after the pit-window and secured the lead from Paffett once and for all on the 23rd lap of tꦕhe race.

As virtue of his sixth win of the season, the Team Rosberg driver has exactly halved the ♐pre-existing 30-point deficit he faced g🎀oing into the penultimate race of the season, to just 15 behind new leader Paffett.

“That w༺as an𝓡 incredible race and a fantastic duel with Gary,” said Rast.

“No one has ever achieved five victories🐻 in a row in the DTM. Our goal was to keep the championship open up until the last race on Sunday.

"We managed to ꧋do that and have further reduced the gap to Gary and Paul in the championship. We obviously have to make up a lot of points tomorrow, but we’re not giving up and will keep pu🅘shing.”
