DTM Hockenheimring: Rast 'not giving up' on title after making history

Reigning champion Rene Rast made a further mark in DTM history after claiming a record-breaking fifth straight win in the series to set up a three way title fight 🍷ahead of tomorrow's last race of the season at Hockenheim.

Rastꦚ became the first driver in modern day DTM history to claim five wins in a row after securing the race one victory ahead of his Audi team mate Ro﷽bin Frijns from third on the grid.

Reigning champion Rene Rast made a further mark in DTM history after claiming a record-breaking fifth straight win in th🏅e series to꧙ set up a three way title fight ahead of tomorrow's last race of the season at Hockenheim.

Rast became the first driver in modern day DTM history to claim five wins in a row after securing the race one victory ahead ofဣ his Audi team mate Robi𓂃n Frijns from third on the grid.

Having stalked the Mercedes of Gary Paffett for much of the opening half of the race, Rast upped the ante immediately after the🌸 pit-window and secured the lead from Paffett once and for all on the 23rd lap of the race.

As virtue of his sixth win of the season, the Team Rosberg driver has exactly halved the pre-existing 30-point deficit he faced going into the penultimate rac♌e of the season, to just 15 behind new leader Paffett.

“That was an incredible race and aᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ fantastic duel with G🍃ary,” said Rast.

“No one has ever achieved five ﷽victories in a row in the DTM. Our goal was to keep the championship open up until the last race on Sunday.

"We managed to do tha𝔍t and have further reduced the gap to Gary and Paul in the championship. We obviously havꦍe to make up a lot of points tomorrow, but we’re not giving up and will keep pushing.”
