Race suits signed and worn by the six cham♋pions on the F1 grid this season have raised nearly ?40,000 for the Wings for Life charity - with Sebastian Vettel's suit raising ?11,000 alone.

The auction, which was carried out by Bonhams, saw suits worn by Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Kimi Raikkonen go under the hammer t꧃o raise funds for the charity, which will go tow꧟ards cutting-edge research projects and clinical trials across the globe aimed at accelerating progress towards a cure for spinal cord injury.

Each of the six race suits was complimented by other donations fro꧒m the drivers including pairs 🧸of signed race gloves and signed photographic prints.

"It's been one of the most competitive seasons for Formula One drꦫivers," Vettel said following the sale. "I'm really p♍roud to have won the Championship with the team and it's great that these suits have raised so much money for such a fantastic charity."

Wings for Life is the charity partner of Re🔴d Bull Racing and their logo features on both of the Red Bu𒁃ll Racing cars.

Red🌜 Bull Racing drivers Mark Webber and Vettel, along with ex-F1 racer David Coulthard, are ambassadors for the Wings for Life𝓀 charity.
