Daniil Kvyat has bemoaned his misfortune in Melbourne for the second year running after he suffered an electrical failure with his♊ power unit on the formation lap for the Australian Grand Prix.

In an almost identical fashion to 12 months ago, Kvyat's Red Bull 🌸gave up on him before the lights went out for the season opener when he suffered a terminal transmission problems on his out-lap to the grid.

This year the Russian driver was able to make it to the grid but having completed the formation lap his car ไground to a halt while lining up on the starter marks.

It was later diagnosed as an electronics failure wit꧑h the CU-H unit on the TAG Heuer-sponsored engi𓄧ne, meaning for a second straight year despite qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix Kvyat was unable to complete a single lap through no fault of his own.

"It looks like an electronic issue put us out of tဣhe race before it started," Kvyat said. "I think Australia doesn't seem to be the luckiest place for me so far. The car 𒐪just shut itself off - I guess it didn't want to do the race today, but we'll be back in Bahrain and we'll start again from there."

After last year's failure Kvyat made a tentative start ꧟to the season - claiming a total of f🤪ive points over the opening five races - and came under pressure from Red Bull bosses before fighting back in Monaco with an impressive fourth place.

Kvyat says he has learnt from that experience and is confident he can get 2016 off to a bet♚ter start in Bahrain in two weeks time.

"Last ye🌠ar it was very hard to take, not starting the race, but this year I'm a stronger person so I'𝕴ll be OK, these things happen, that's life and that's racing."
