Jacques Villeneuve made his debut for Team Sauber-Petronas today [Friday], as the Swiss outfit completed a three-day test at the Circuiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚt de Catalunya.

The Canadian, who took over from team-mate Felipe Massa, covered 97 laps in chassis C23-02 to set a best time of 1 minute 15.219 seconds, just two tenths slower t🃏han Ricardo Zonta, who was fastest overall.

The 1997 F1 ܫworld champion was pleased with his꧋ efforts.

"My first day of testing with Sauber Petronas went really well," he commented. "I had spent enough time in the fa❀ctory for the seat fitting, so I felt immediately comfortable in the car.

"I did a lot of la💛ps today and the times were good. In addition, the car ran absolutely reliable, we had no technical problems whatsoever. So it was real☂ly a very productive first day.

"We worked on the set-up mainly to further adapt the C23 to the Michelin tyres. We have a good basis and I am confident 🌠that we can continue this work in a positive way during oℱur next test in Jerez."

Sauber will test at Jerez from December 1-3.
