Jacꦡques Villeneuve made his debut for Team Sauber-Petronas today [Friday], as the Swiss outfit completed a three-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya.

The Canadian, who took over from team-mate Felipe Massa, covered 97 laps🅺 in chassis C23-02 to set a best time of 1 minute 15.219 seconds, just two tenths slower ꦗthan Ricardo Zonta, who was fastest overall.

The 1997 F1 world champion🔜 was pleased with his efforts.

"My first day ♍of testing with Sauber Petronas went really well," he commented. "I had spent enough time in the factory for the seat fitting, so I felt immediately comfortable in the car.

"I did a lot of laps today and the times were good. In addition, the car ran absolutely reliabl꧂e, we had no technical problems whatsoever. So it was really a very productive fไirst day.

"We worked on the set-up mainly to further adapt the C23 to the Michelin tyres. We have a good basis and I am confident that we can continue this work in ෴a positive way during our next🐻 test in Jerez."

Sauber will test at Jerez from December 1-3.
