Williams enjoy first ever day at Vallelunga.

The BMW Williams-F1 team ran at Vallelunga in Italy today [Tuesday] for the very first time, as Antonio Pizz💖onia and World Touring Car Championship [WTCC] front-runner, Andy Priaulx kicked off a three-day test for the Grove based squad.

Not surprising𝓰ly, F1 regular, Pizzonia led the way - with a best time of 57.664 seconds, while Priaulx by no means embarrassed himself, by lapping around one second slower [his best a 58.624s]. Both🅺 drivers completed over 100 laps as they began preparation work for the Monaco Grand Prix in two weeks time.

"This is ♍the first time the team has tested at Vallelunga and it's always interesting to come somewhere new," summed up test team manager, Tim Newton.

"The circuit in Italy bears the closest resemblance to Monaco, the next race on the calendar. Antonio worked on set-ups and tyre casing tests while Andy worked on start settings and cooling tests. The pair comple🌃ted nearly 900 kilometres.

"On his first day in the FW27, Andy did a good job for the team, especially considering he won the 24-hours race at the weekend and will be at Snet💦terton for the next two days testing.

"Mark Webber will be taking over from A🧸ndy tomorrow to join Antonio for the second of a three day test."
