Grosjean keen on ‘lovely’ Renault return in the future

Romain Grosjean is hopeful of rꦦeturning to Renault’s Formula 1 team at some point in the future when he can fight for a world championship, but has called a 2018 comeback “premature”.

Grosjean made his F1 debut witꦰh Renault back in 2009 before returning to the Enstone operation - which had become Lotus - in 2012, remaining there until the end of the 2015 season.

G♏rosjean has since joined Haas and is set to remain with the American team for a third year in 2018, as confirmed by team owner Gene Haas last month.

Romain Grosjean is hopeful of returning to Renault’s Formula 1 team at some point in the future when he can fight for a world championship, but has call🍃ed a 2018 comeback “premature”.

Grosjean made his F1 debut with Renau💫lt back in 2009 before returning to the Enstone operation - which had become Lotus - in 2012, remaining there until the end of the 2015 season.

Grosjean has since joined Haas and is set to remain with the American team for a third year in 2018, as confirmed by team owner Gene Haas l💯ast month.

“It was not such a big s🌳urprise fᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚor me, I’ve known this since September 2015. So I would call it a normal continuation, and things are great,” .

“The team is doing well and I want to help it grow bigg🦹er. Of course, if one day there is the chance to be world champion, then great.”

Renault is known to be evaluating a number of drivers for a seat in 2018 alongside Nico Hulkenberg, with Grosj𓃲ean linkedꦅ given his history with the brand and the notion of a French driver representing a French team.


Grosjean denied having spoken with Renault about a 2018 seat, but did admit he would like to return to the team some 🐬day.

“No, I haven’t talked with Renau🌠lt,” Grosjean said.

“Going back to Renault one day would be lovely, but it should be the tim💯e when we really could be world champions together.

“That would be a superb si♎tuation, but right now it is a bit premature.”
