Former Ferrari Formula 1 chief Todt became FIA president in 2009 after defeating Finnish rally legend Ari Vatanen, and ran unopposed in 2013 to secure a second term after the opposing David Ward withdrew ꧒after failing ♈to gain enough support.

Todt announced his intention to run for a third term as FIA president back in May, and was confirmed as the only candidate in a statement issued by motorspor✃t's world governing body on Wednesday.

Todt's third term as FIA president - set to la▨st until 2021 - will be confirmed at the FIA Annual Generᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚal Assembly in Paris on December 8.
