Kvyat penalised for Perez US GP collision, loses points finish

Toro Rosso Formula 1 dr🐲iver Daniil Kvyat has lost his points finish at the United States Grand Prix after being penalised for colliding with Sergio Perez.

Kvyat finished 10🐻th on the road but was handed a five-second time penalty for clashing with Racing Point’s Sergio Perez at Turn 15 in the closing stages of the Austin race.

It marks the second consecutive weekend in 🔯a row 𓃲that Kvyat has been relegated out of the points for a post-race penalty.

Toro Rosso Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat has lost his points finish🌜 at the United States Grand Prix after being penalised for colliding with Sergio Perez.

Kvyat finished 10th on the road but was handed a five-second time penalty fo🐓r clashing with Racing Point’s Sergio Perez at Turn 15 in the closing stages of thওe Austin race.

It marks the second ꦫconsecutive weekend in a row that Kvyat has been relegated out of the poin🐭ts for a post-race penalty.

The Russian was demoted to 11th at last weekend’s Mexican Grand Prix af🔴ter he tangled with Renault driver Nico Hulkenberg on the last lap of the race at the Autodromo Herma🌱nos Rodriguez.

The penalty means Perez has claimed the final point on offer in 10th place, with Kvyat subsequently dropping down to 12th and behind Alfa Romeo’s Kimi Raikkonen in the final ra✃ce classification.

An FIA statement read: “Car 11 was in front immediately prior to the apex of the corner, car 26 “dived” down the inside, had a small lock up and bounced off the kerb, which moved the car to the outside of the exit of the corner, colliding wit🐈h car 11.”

Kvyat has also been handed one penalty point on his super licence, taking his current 12-month p♑eriod total up to five.

The second Toro Rosso of Pierre Gasly was also caught up in a collision with Perez as the pair battled over ninth⭕. The Frenchman ultimately fell down to 16th with damage as a result of the contact.

Perez's point 🍌for 10th place moves him within two points of ninth-placed Daniel Ricciardo in the drivers' champio꧒nship.
