Russell seals third straight F2 pole in red-flagged qualifying

Mercedes Formula 1 junior George Russell claimed his third Formula 2 pole posit♛ion in a row by pipping Alexander Albon at Silverstone in a tight se𒊎ssion disrupted by a red flag. 

The ART Grand Prꦬix driver turned in a stunning lap in the closing minutes of the session with a 1m39.989s to complete a hat-trick of poles across the triple header events in France, Austria and Britain.

Mercedes Formula 1 junior George Russell claimed his third Formula 2 pole position in a row by pipping Alexander Albon at Silverstone in a t๊ight session disrupted by a red flag. 

The ART Grand Prix driver turned in a stunning lap in the closing minutes o🐬f the session with a 1m39.989s to complete a hat-trick of poles across the triple header events in France, Austria and Britain. 

Russell finished less than a tenth clear of DAMS driver Albon to extend his championship lead over Lando Norris to 14 poi♑nts, while Antonio Fuoco managed his best qualifyin🐭g result of the year in third. 

Charouz Racing System teammate finished fourth, ahead of the Carlin duo headed by Sergio Sette Camara, as Norris struggled to match the pace of his main title rival Russell, dropping a further four points to his fellow countryman in the drivers’ sta꧃ndings. 

Trident♛’s Arjun Maini 🍰finished seventh-quickest, ahead of Austria sprint race winner Artem Markelov, who surged up to eighth with a late improvement in his Russian Time machine, while Luca Ghiotto and Maximilian Gunther completed the top 10. 

𝕴The session was disrupted by an early issue for Roy Nissany, who came to a hꦓalt in his Campos at Turn 4 and propped up the timesheets - meaning he will start last in Saturday’s feature race.
