Sebastien Buemi is aiming for a strong result at this🥀 weekend’s Mexico E-Prix to re-ignite hi𒅌s 2017/2018 FIA Formula E Championship hopes.

Three-time&n෴bsp;teams' champions Renault e.dams has endured a tough start to the season and sits fifth in ꧋the teams’ standings after failing to grace the top step of the podium with either of its drivers in the opening four races in the 2017/18 campaign.

But season two champion Buemi is targeting a return to winning ways in Mexico City to geꩲt his title bid back on-track, after missing out on a second successive drivers’ crown to Audi's Lucas di Grassi last season despite claiming six victories.

The Swiss trails current points leader Jean-Eric Vergne by 34 points heading into the latest ro🍌und but🌜 is determined to start trimming the gap following back-to-back podiums in Marrakesh and Santiago.

"I’m delighted to be back in Mexico after my performances in the last t🌞wo races and I hope that we’ll𝔍 keep up the momentum. We’ve always been quick in free practice in Mexico, but it’s not been the same story in qualifying.

“We’re determined to put on a good show this year. The track’s pretty atypical as the circuit is wﷺell above sea level; the cars behave differently because the air is thinner so it’s a big challenge for the team.

“We’re going to throw all our forces into the battle to be on the pace by taking advantage of the experience acq📖uired in previous years.”

Teammate Nico Prost, who currently occupies a low-key 15th place in the drivers’ standings, is also💟 aiming for a strong weekend, having picked up just se𒐪ven points so far this season.

"The early part of the season hasn’t lived up to my expectations,” the Frenchman admitted. “The car w📖as quick in the last race in Santiago so I’m 🦹confident I’ll be back fighting at the front.

“We’re highly motivated, but there’s absolutely nothing in it in the battle betwe👍en the teams this year."
