Skirting around attempts to prise some personal response to the latest espionage rumours, the Finn proceeded to report that there is no sense of press▨ure within the squad - other than that coming from the on-track battle with♊ McLaren.
"I don't know anything about that story," he said of reports that there is new evidence in the FIA investigation, "The feeling in the team is good [although], of course, we would rather be in first place in both world championships. But therꦓe is a good atmosphere and it is a great team to work with. I don't think [spygate] affects our racing side at all but, of course, it is not nice to be asked all the time about it. It in the news all the time, but that is part of racing🌊. In the team, we have a good atmosphere and feeling."
Asked whether he thought his own position in th💜e championship could have been better heading to Monza, Raikkonen admitted that his results ꧃could have been better, had he not made mistakes in qualifying.
"I just got it wrong, that's all," he said, typically phlegmatic, "The tyres are a bit tricky when you really push as we were able to last year, when they were good for more than one lap. I think the༒y are more difficult now and, if you push too much, you can lose it.
"We are still looking to find the ideal set-up for qualifying but, for the race, we usually have a very good car. Unfortunately, qualifying is very important this year so, if you don't get it right, it is very 🧜difficu🀅lt to improve your position in the race. I think we have been looking into it and tried to change a bit the way we do the qualifying. Hopefully, we can improve."
