Snetterton: Jackson, Welch at odds over race two clash

AmD Tuning's Ollie Jackson and Goodestone Racing's Dan Welch are at odds as to where the fault lies for their spectacular altercation during the second British Touring Car Champi♊onship race at Snetterton.
The pair came together during a frenetic opening lap whilst battling towards the rear end of the midfield pack🔯.
Jackson's Aud🌳i S3 careered into the Armco barrier while Welch's Proton inconveniently shuddered to a halt on the middle of the circuit, perilously facing the oncoming traffic.
With nowhere to go, MG's Ashley Sutton ended up slamming into Welch's stricken Proton while Hunter Abbottꦬ, Stewart Lines, Mark Howard and Alex Martin were also caught up the melee - all emerged uninjured from the skirmish.
Jackson's Audi may return to the fray for 🍬the final encounter but Welch's Proton Persona bore ꦡthe brunt of the incident, suffering terminal damage as a result.
Descri♍bing the incident Welch said: "I had a good start and the race was going well. The pace we've got at the minute is slowly cꦆatching on," said Welch.
"I had a good start, got on the inside of 𝓰Ollie [Jackson] into turn 7 onto the back straight and he basically should have conceded the position instead of hanging it on the outside of the corner.
"The car has done its j🎐ob because i🦄t's saved me but it's a write off. It's one of those things. He tried to hang onto my rear quarter until he went out wide.
"The car is totalled. I reckon I might have one good corner left on it. I was in the middle of the track and thought 'this is going to hurt'."
Jackson didn't share the same opinion: "I was on𓂃 the outside, Dan [Welch] leaned against me, pushed me off the track, broke his suspension in the process and collected me, which sent me across the track.
"We might get the car𒀰 back out for race three but it's not a dead cert. The boys are working absolutely flat out so fingers crossed.
"We suffered suspension and front end damage but the shells and sub-frames are straight s▨o we're all good apart from that."
