Snetterton: Jackson, Welch at odds over race two clash

AmD Tuning's Ollie Jackson an𒉰d Goodestone Racing's Dan Welch are at odds as to where the fault lies for their ꧑spectacular altercation during the second British Touring Car Championship race at Snetterton.
The pair came together during a frenetic opening lap whilst battling towards the rear end o🙈f the midfield pack.
Jackson's Audi S3 careered into the Armco barrier while Welch's Pr🅰oton inconveniently shuddered to a halt on the middle of the circu𒐪it, perilously facing the oncoming traffic.
With nowhere to go, MG's Ashley Sutton eඣnded up slamming into Welch's str🏅icken Proton while Hunter Abbott, Stewart Lines, Mark Howard and Alex Martin were also caught up the melee - all emerged uninjured from the skirmish.
Jackson's Audi may return to the fray for the final encounter but Welch's Proton Persona bore the brunt of tꦯhe incident, suffering terminal damage as a result.
Describing the incident Welch said: "I had a good start a൩nd the race was going well. The pace w🧸e've got at the minute is slowly catching on," said Welch.
"I had a good start, got on the inside of Ollie [Jackson] into turn 7 onto the back straight and he basic♉ally should have conceded the position instead of hanging it on the outside of the corn൲er.
"The car has done its j🍨ob because it's saved me but it's a write off. It's one of those things. He tried to hang onto my rear quarter until he went out wide.
"The car is totalled. I reckon I might have one good corner left on it. I was in the middle of the track and thought 'this is going to hurt'."
Jackson didn't share the same opinion: "I was on the outside, D♏an [Welch] leaned against me, pushed me off the track, broke his suspension in the process and collected me, which sent me across the track.
"We might get the car back o🦄ut for race three but it's not a dead cert. The boys are working absolutely flat out so fingers crossed.
"We suffered suspension and front end damage but the shells and sub-frames are straig💦ht so we'r𝓡e all good apart from that."
