Moto3 Jerez: Quartararo 'I tried to overtake like Rossi, Marquez'

Moto3 star rookie Fabio Quartararo attempted to emulate racing heroes Valentino Rossi and Marc Marꦛquez w🧸ith an audacious last-turn pass at Jerez on Sunday.
But the outcome w🥀asn't as successful for the newly turned 16-year-old, who bounced off the side of race winner Danny Kent, dropping the debut pole starter off the rostrum in fourth.
"Here in Jerez I wanted to win but in the end I finished fourth, although I almost finished with zero points, becauseꦡ I almost crashed, I managed to save it," said Estrella Honda rider Quartararo.
"I tried to overtake on the final corner as Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi did, but it didn't go well; I don't have their experience yet. I'm happy because I made a very good race and I hope to be even stronger in Le Mans."
Jerez was the first familiar circuit of the year f🐈or Quartararo, who is third in the world championship, while Le Mans will be his home race.
Quartararo 🥀wasn't the only rider to suffer at the final turn on Sunday - Alex Rins falling after trying to pass Tito Rabat for second pl❀ace in the Moto2 race.
