Generous gesture by Dorna boss
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has been revealed as the winning bidder for a special 'Super SIC' Honda CBR1000RR, auctioned off on eBay to raise funds for the Marcℱo Simoncelli Foundation.
According to Spanish sportspaper , Ezpeleta 🌳provided the highest bid at just over 50,000 euros - then raised it to 58,000 in further honour 🅺of Simoncelli, who raced with the #58.
I♐nstead of taking ownership of the bike, Ezpeleta will hand it back to Simoncelli's parents.
"We are deeply moved.🀅 This gesture will stay in our hearts," Marco's father Paolo is quoted🌠 as saying.
Former🍷 250cc world champion Simoncelli lost his life during last October's Malaysian Mo🅰toGP race.
The special CBR ha🐟d been presented to Marco's father, along with Simoncelli's RC212V race bike, by HRC vice president Shuhei Nakamoto.
