Generous gesture by Dorna boss
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has been revealed as the winning bidder for a special 'Super SIC' Honda CBR1000RR, auctioned off on eBay to raise funds for the Marco Simoꦓncelli Foundation.
According to Spanish sportspaper , Ezpeleta provided the🎉 highest bid at just over 50,000 euros - then raised ⛎it to 58,000 in further honour of Simoncelli, who raced with the #58.
In♉stead of taking ownership of the bi𝔉ke, Ezpeleta will hand it back to Simoncelli's parents.
"We are deeply moved. This gesture will stay in our hearts," Marco's f🌱ather Paolo is quoted as saying.
Former 250cc world champion Simoncelli lost his life during last October's Malaysian MotoGP r🌜ace.
The special CBR had been pre⛦sented to Marco's father, along with Simoncelli's RC212V ꧙race bike, by HRC vice president Shuhei Nakamoto.
